Santa Monica Pier Paddleboard Race and Ocean Festival
Few folks know that paddleboarding, which looks as if it were invented for aging baby boomers, was a craze in the 1940s at the Santa Monica Pier, from which practitioners of the sport would launch themselves for oceangoing forays.
