Ancestral Pueblo people abandoned their Four Corners cliff dwellings centuries ago, but at the Ute Mountain Tribal Park near Cortez, Colorado, that exodus can seem like it happened yesterday. Half- and full-day tours led by Native American guides visit sites—including cliffside alcoves reached by ladder—where you’ll still find (but can’t gather) pieces of black-and-white and corrugated pottery as well as corncobs left behind by the inhabitants.
