“Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah, is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been—a gorgeous architectural resort in the middle of the desert. Mmm, bison!”
LOSE YOURSELF: The Amangiri resort, which looks out over the Colorado Plateau’s grandeur, is the only one in sight. But that’s OK—it’s the only one you’ll need. Take a hot-air balloon flight for aerial views of Lake Powell and the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, or stay on the ground and tackle the hike up Hoodoo Via Ferrata (“Iron Road”). Lazier guests will appreciate the resort’s Flotation Room, which offers “color therapy” and a hot plunge pool. And yes, Amoruso’s not kidding about the food: If it’s on the menu, be sure to order the eight-ounce petite bison fillet at Amangiri’s restaurant.
