SameerGadhia“I may
be biased because I’m Indian, but everyone should go to India at least once. Mumbai
is where most people land on their way to other places, but you should spend at least a day or two there, where you can see the juxtaposition between rich and poor. A lot of Angelenos get lost in the hustle and bustle of their lives, worrying about small things. When I go to India, I get perspective. I feel at peace with myself. Plus the food is amazing.”

VEG OUT: If you want to take a side trip, Gadhia suggests the town of Ahmedabad. Try a vegetarian restaurant called Bawarchi, which means “chef ” in Hindi. “They give you a metal plate with different compartments,” he says. “Servers add more and more food to your plate until you say no.”
