Need a zen lift on hump day? How about some snaps of the birthday boy himself, His Holiness the 14thDalai Lama, who celebrated his 80th in Los Angeles over the holiday weekend. The Tibetan spiritual leader had more birthday parties than a Kardashian in Vegas, with all events finishing up yesterday. The first fete was hosted by the Peak Mind Foundation and included celebs like Forest Whitaker and Aloe Blacc. The second event, The Global Compassion Summit, featured a cake created by the Art Institute of Orange County, numerous Nobel Peace Prize recipients, and lasted three days.
“You must always ask yourself if you are standing up for what is right and treating others with kindness and compassion,” Forest Whitaker said, sounding like the Dalai himself. “These questions are your moral compass.”
