What’s Cooking on Breaking Bad

Los Angeles magazine’s last Breakfast Conversation was with LAUSD Superintendent John Deasy; before that the theme was fashion with Made in L.A., when then-Mayor Villaraigosa stopped by (to joke about his “little General Petraeus moment”). They are never a snooze, these things—even at the early hour. This go-round, Breaking Bad writers/co-executive producers Moira Walley-Beckett and Peter Gould and actress Anna Gunn (Skylar White) stopped by Public Kitchen & Bar for a Q&A about the show led by the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Mary Melton. This particular breakfast found Superior Court Judge Lance Ito sitting next to R.B. of McD handbag designer John McDavid Lehman, and The Shine Gallery’s Bernie Shine chatting with Bill Stern of the Museum of California Design. Not in attendance? Gunn’s 12-year-old daughter. “I don’t let my daughter watch the show,” Gunn said. “She has asked me, ‘[Walt]’s a cook—so, what does he cook?’”
