It is the last week to beam up some cash for Omaze’s Star Trek: To Boldly Go campaign. For your donation of $10 or more, you are entered to win a trip to Vancouver to visit the Star Trek Beyond set, a walk-on part, and complimentary airfare/hotel stay.
While the campaign will be donating to nine causes, Zachary Quinto (who currently plays the role of Spock) filmed a little spot this week highlighting one supported by the late, great Leonard Nimoy, who originally played Spock and who passed away this February. In his free time, Nimoy supported many artistic and charitable endeavors, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The hospital was nominated by Nimoy’s wife, Susan, in honor of her husband. With museum gala season approaching, it will be strange not to see Nimoy, who supported many, many L.A. institutions for years among the art patrons.
