Glendale Galleria’s Bloomingdale’s opening last week was the second invite I got that read “Attire: Black and White” (the other was for a birthday party for comedian Tommy Davidson). There were a lot of dark suits wandering the HUGE store and eating wee watermelon squares with a sprinkle of cheese that night. Samantha Ronson spun on the first floor (and checked her phone far too much … tsk, tsk) and Miles Mosley (upright bass) played on the second floor with a pianist next to some great sweaters with puppies on them (okay, I already starting shopping too). Cher Lloyd also performed. VH1’s Save The Music Foundation benefitted from the evening.
Bloomie’s is open just in time for the holidays (it is located at the corner of Brand and Broadway). It was packed this weekend having contests and giveaways and you could barely wiggle with wide-eyed folks checking out the pristine two-level space. The excitement was palpable from clerks to shoppers and it is worth strolling through.
