The Natural History Museum and the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum Kick Off #HowDoYouMuseum

With a little help from Will Ferrell, Mark Bradford, Gary Baseman, and Cara Santa Maria

Last night, The Natural History Museum kicked off its #HowDoYouMuseum digital campaign to highlight all of the cool changes at the DTLA museum and the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum. People are encouraged to visit the museums and post their experiences and inspirations with the hashtag #HowDoYouMuseum or follow along with both museums via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

They launched the endeavor with a series of videos featuring L.A. notables like actor Will Ferrell and artists Mark Bradford and Gary Baseman. There will also be videos by fashion designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy (RODARTE), artist Catherine Opie, and author D.J. Waldie—just to name a few. So here’s my contribution to the conversation: a snap I took last night at the kick-off party.

I could look at the dioramas in the NHM all day #HowDoYouMuseum
The dioramas at the NHM take my mind to far away places #HowDoYouMuseum

And this is my fave video so far of their video series. The kid (Ariel) steals the show from Ferrell—it reminds me of when I ask the actor questions and he rarely gives me a straight answer.
