L.A.’s social whirl is one fantastic blur. Let’s stop a moment and check out one of my favorite shots of the week.

Who: Will Ferrell, Julia Roberts, and Mark Bradford

What: The 13 Annual Gala in the Garden Honoring Diane Keaton and Paul McCarthy with support from Bottega Veneta

Where: Cocktails were held on the third floor terrace (and cool new Michael Maltzan-designed John V. Tunney Bridge). Chef Suzanne Goin prepared dinner, which was served in the courtyard below

Why: To raise money in support of the Hammer’s public programs and exhibitions (which are always free to the public). The final tally? $2.5 million

Wow(s): Aloe Blacc performed his hit song “Wake Me Up” before launching into a rendition of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On?”, and Museum Director Ann Philbin announced a future Hammer exhibition of McCarthy’s drawings
