Oceana’s SeaChange Summer Party

Saving the ocean while gazing upon it in Laguna

Ted Danson and his Oceana cohorts met up once again at Bruce and Karen Cahill’s spectacular pad in Laguna to raise funds for the fishes. Oceana has fund-raising to-dos all over Southern California and is the world’s largest ocean conservation group. They change legislation. They clean up the sea. And I’ll add they throw fine fetes. At their 5th annual SeaChange Summer Party in Laguna, there was a silent auction and cocktails on one level of the Cahill’s hillside pile and dinner on another, with fabulous views of what the org protects all around. Morgan Freeman has long supported the group and was all smiles this year, saying, “I have the utmost faith after seeing and feeling the spirit of the people at this event tonight and having worked with the dedicated people at Oceana that this can happen, that we can save the oceans.” Awards went to Tricia and Michael Berns and South Coast Plaza. In years past, celebs like Jeff Bridges performed (with the sea to his back). This year? Jeff Goldblum donned a chapeau and joined the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra to entertain guests. Other famous faces in the crowd included Alexandra Cousteau (yes, of that Cousteau family), AimeeTeegarden, Jenna Ushkowitz, Dennis Haysbert, and super green Ed Begley Jr.
