It was a gorgeous evening dining al fresco at the Malibu Café at Calamigos Ranch as chefs Neal Fraser (Redbird), Antonia Lofaso (Scopa Italian Roots), Kris Morningstar (Terrine), and Colin Akiyama (Bucato) manned the kitchen to create a magical four-course meal. Chef Andrea Van Willigan-Cutspec of Malibu Café sent around hors d’oeuvres (did I mention the food was good?) as guests invited by City National Bank, Visa Infinite, and this magazine gathered to celebrate the launch of City National’s Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card.
The evening was lubricated with fine wines and Don Julio cocktails (I had something with a swivel stick straw that was really good) as everyone sampled grilled Spanish octopus, Cavatelli with spring peas and truffles, braised beef short ribs, and s’mores tartlets. The credit card folks were also very smart and gave attendees a paper card good for $25 off in Malibu Café’s new shop, Otte.
