C’mon Get Happy: A Little Bit of Thailand By Way Of Hancock Park

The Consul General of Thailand threw a party celebrating the Thai culture. The result? Smiling humans

The happiness was contagious Tuesday night at the “Threads of Thailand” fashion show. Partiers gathered at Jesda Katavetin, the Consul General of Thailand’s Hancock Park manse to be enthralled by all things Thai. The moment each guest stepped into the bash, they were given with fragrant flowers, sweets (made then and there like floral bracelets), and savories from Ayara Thai. The comfortably packed party was presented by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and OK! TV and featured a presentation of Thai silk by designer YaYa.

Special guest actress Elizabeth Röhm showed up in a dazzling YaYa creation. “I was always drawn to the Thai culture,” she told me. “I was raised Buddhist by my mom. It’s an exquisite culture.” Other gorgeous happy humans included Beverly Johnson, who just popped by the spectacle. “This is amazing,” she said, as woman and men in Thai silk creations walked past her. “The atmosphere, the designs—it’s intoxicating.” I couldn’t have agreed more. Check out the pics. Try not to smile…
