Champagne Flowed and Mallets Flew at This Year’s Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

There were no grassholes at the Will Rogers State Historic Park

It was clear from the brown grass and sparse foliage that Will Rogers State Historic Park is conserving water—even in light of Saturday’s fancy Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. There was, however, free-flowing champers for more than 5,000 polo-watchers. Polo player (and model) Nacho Figueras took to the field for the Black Watch team, and polo enthusiasts Scott Foley, James Marsden, and Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman all popped by to cheer him on.

Figueras was joined on the field for the first time by his wife Delfina Blaquier (I wondered why she wasn’t all gussied up at the pre-party in the VIP Secret Garden – she usually has a killer dress on). Blaquier was so good, in fact, she was awarded MVP of the game after her team’s victory. There were a lot of famous tykes running around as the offspring of Gwyneth Paltrow, January Jones, and Rachel Zoe got all dolled up to stop the divots. Other faces in the crowd included Selma Blair, Camilla Belle, Jesse Metcalfe, Rachel Roy, Nina Dobrev, and Jaime King.
