Aviva Platinum Associates Luncheon

Designer Carolina Herrera pops by to show the ladies (and a handful of gents) her spring 2012 line

I have been lunching and shopping with the Aviva ladies for many years, in their mansions (I remember shopping for handbags in a hostess’s ballroom one year, and I don’ t mean the kind at IKEA that the kids play in), in their well-manicured backyards, and this year at The Pink Palace, better known as The Beverly Hills Hotel. Platinum Associates aid local at-risk youth and their families through Aviva Family and Children’s Services and they focus in on girls who have been in foster care. This is a good thing. Uber-designer Carolina Herrera was in town (for the Twilight Breaking Dawn premiere because she made Bella’s wedding dress) and joined the Associates for their luncheon and presented the Los Angeles debut of her spring 2012 collection. She was treated like a rock star. Aviva Family and Children’s Services played host along with Saks Fifth Avenue and Herrera’s collection was waiting in the lobby after the show so gals could check out the fashions they’d just seen.
