If you have screamed along to any song off Alanis Morissette’s smash album Jagged Little Pill, then you were probably dating in the 90’s (the album hit in 1995) and someone did you … wrong. A very zen Morissette performed last night at Boulevard3 as part of ELLE’s Women in Music Concert presented by eBay. Singer’s Banks and Tinashe also performed at the flower-laden bash where there was ample sugar on the donuts, french fries a-plenty, and petite pigs in a blanket for guests to eat. Morissette performed on her signature bohemian chic carpet. Before she sang a note, however, she had this to say, “We were going to the radio stations with the song ‘You Oughta Know” and the responses from some of the radio stations were things like, ‘We’re already playing Sinead O’Connor and Tori Amos–there’s no more women we can play.’ Okaaaay. That changed. Thankfully…Now you can’t swing a dead vegan cat without hitting women everywhere!”
The crowd that stopped by ELLE Editor-in-Chief Robie Myers soiree included Brittany Snow, Kate Beckinsale, Mehcad Brooks, Ashley Tisdale, Keke Palmer, and Pink among many others. Pink sang along with the Bank’s tunes she knew before heading backstage to say ‘Hey’ to Morissette right before she performed. Beckinsale arrived in just in time to sing along to all of Morissette’s set. An eBay auction is raising funds right now for The GRAMMY foundation for ten days following last night’s to-do. Check it out.
