When you watch the 2003 film Honey, it’s hard to focus on anything but Jessica Alba’s lips. They look like a shimmering, sunset-lit body of water.
After over a decade of radio-silence, the gold mouth is back. Prada’s Spring Summer 2016 runway show in Milan just proved that gold is like a confection glaze for your mouth.
To get the look, beloved makeup artist Pat McGrath painted theater makeup paint onto the model’s lips, and then layered it with a reflective gold pigment. She then kept the rest of the makeup to a minimum with just swipes of foundation and concealer to even out skin tone, and touches of mascara at the roots of eyelashes—and this is the best way to do it.
