Say Namaste to Alternative Apparel’s New Activewear Line

Go from yoga to brunch in the company’s chic performance fabrics

Alternative Apparel didn’t intend for its soft cotton tees and comfy leggings to be worn to yoga or indoor cycling classes, but customers couldn’t resist doing just that. This month the downtown company debuts MOVE, an activewear line using performance fabrics you’re meant to sweat in. To create the collection, which is available exclusively at Nordstrom, designer Tiffany Ruiz polled a range of sporty women, from the Derby Dolls to Pop Physique regulars. “Women in L.A. are constantly moving from the gym to the office to dinner with friends,” says Ruiz. The drapey fabrics and modern silhouettes may inspire you to work out, even if that only involves running to catch the elevator.
