There is no question that the sexy flash of a red sole belongs to Louboutin, whether the shoe designer eventually wins his trademark battle or not.
It was sometime in the early ‘90s that Christian Louboutin first lacquered the bottom of a pair of stilettos in a vibrant “Chinese Red,” inspired by his assistant who was painting her nails in the same shade.
This year the brand celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a Capsule Collection of 20 of the designer’s most iconic styles, including Pensee (the first of his shoes to get the red-sole treatment) and Highness-Tina, a fringed thigh-high suede boot named for the force of nature known as Tina Turner. Six one-of-a-kind handbag styles will also be released with the limited footwear collection.
Starting today, the full collection can be viewed exclusively on the Christian Louboutin Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/christianlouboutin
Fans of the Facebook page can sign up on a special tab to receive an email invitation to be amongst the first to shop the collection as soon as it is available on the company’s online boutique later this month.
The Capsule Collection hits brick-and-mortar Christian Louboutin boutiques in March.
