New Launch: Malin+Goetz Cannabis Hand + Body Wash

It gently cleanses and hydrates skin without giving you a case of the munchies

Ganja. Mary Jane. Bud. Sticky-icky. Whatever you favorite nickname for marijuana, you ought to know how weed has been embraced in the beauty industry as a staple ingredient for a while now, and with good cause. Simply put, it’s kinda awesome for your skin. Did you know the oil from hemp seeds is amazingly rich in omega-3, has a high vitamin E content, and has an extremely high percentage of essential fatty acids (between 75 and 80 percent)? When combined, these elements have been clinically proven to penetrate deep into skin cells, provide a lasting barrier to moisture loss, and alleviate dry skin and minor abrasions while keeping acne, eczema, and psoriasis flare-ups in check.

Judge me if you must, but I’ve never actually tried the non-cosmetic stuff. I was a total nerd throughout my college years. Now I can say I’ve inhaled, or rather taken a few long, deep whiffs of the addictive, sexily scented Malin+Goetz Cannabis Hand+Body Wash ($20). This is probably the closest I’ll get to the real deal—the formulation has 0.3% cannabis, which gently cleanses and hydrates skin without giving you a case of the munchies.

I half expected the wash to smell like my late-night strolls through the campus quad: pungent, smoky, and a little bit skunky. But it doesn’t. The unisex scent is citrusy, spicy, and very clean and crisp in an I-borrowed-my-boyfriend’s-toiletries way. There’s no recreational fun happening with your senses, so you kush enthusiasts may need to hit the dispensary for that kind of stony relaxation. But for an uplifting experience in the a.m., this might provide some mid-week motivation for a chill weekend ahead.
