Makeup Junkie: 99 Problems But A Brush Ain’t One

Make Up For Ever’s “Artisan Brush Collection” is epic. Five years in the making, the collection is comprised of 76 different brushes, hand-crafted by 30 people, through 25 stages of construction, on the island of Mauritius under the direction of renown brush maker Raphaël. While cosmetic company does cater to pros who might have need for a “fork shaped” brush to create stripe effects or oversized versions so wide you could use them to paint your house, it also keeps the average gal in mind, too. So in addition to the “Artistic” series in the collection, you’ll find basic brushes for applying every kind of foundation (liquid, cream, loose powder), eyeshadow, lipstick and blush brushes galore. The synthetic-bristled and beech wood-handled brushes have that “made on the island of Mauritius feel.”  Don’t know a smudger from a blender? The Make Up For Ever boutique on Robertson Boulevard offers free classes with purchase.

Make Up For Ever’s “Artisan Brush Collection” will be available at and at Make Up For Ever Boutiques in September. (A limited selection of styles from the collection will be available at Sephora brick-and-mortar stores).
