If we have one bone to pick with summer, it’s that so many of the season’s most iconic looks are hard to pull off—without a little know how, that is. Our “How Tos,” which we’ll post all summer long, are here to help. The first look to conquer: the head scarf.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: An infinity scarf. (Note: Infinity scarves are different from regular scarfs in that they have no ends and instead connect to make a full circle. This one, from Anthropologie, is particularly pretty.)
STEP 1
Place the scarf on the top of your head like a hood with the extra fabric hanging behind your shoulders.
STEP 2
Bring the bottom of the scarf to one side, low on your neck.
STEP 3
Leaving a small loop at the very end of the scarf, tightly twist the bottom of the scarf. The twist will cause the scarf to coil upwards.
STEP 4
Following the coil, make a bun with the scarf at the side of your head.
STEP 5
Wrap the end loop around the bun to secure.
Voila, your ready for the beach this summer in this hair-protecting and vintage-inspired look!
