How to Restore Your Balance in L.A.

Six picks for Global Wellness Day, L.A. style

Our bodies and minds are the only things that we actually own in life–the rest is transient. Like Thanksgiving, Global Wellness Day is a reminder of the importance of gratitude and fastidious dedication. The term wellness is synonymous with balance, and we all know too well that when one facet of our well-being is off-wack, the rest is sure to follow suit.

We’ve rounded up a few great products and places in L.A. that tend to different pieces of your whole self.

The Self Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine Temple is a mirage-like, jaw-droppingly gorgeous white temple located on a lake in the Palisades. This “Church of all Religions,” founded by Paramahansa Yogananda, is even home to some of Gandhi’s ashes. Sit for one of their weekly open group meditations, take a walk around the emerald-green grounds, or attend a Satsanga.

Tangled up in the trails along Griffith Park Boulevard is the path to The Wisdom Tree. The hike is steep, the view is elevated, and the tree itself is enigmatic enough to have become a bit of an L.A. celebrity

Natural hot springs are sprouting out of the ground just ten minutes away from downtown Los Angeles. Soak in mineral water at the cavernous Beverly Hot Springs in between meetings or get a heated bamboo & Shiatsu massage.
