Grammy Red Carpet Review

Live performances rocked the Grammy’s last night, (special mention to Jennifer Hudson’s tribute to Whitney Houston, it gave us chills), but the red carpet fashion was overall a little lackluster.

Katy Perry (in Elie Saab) and Carrie Underwood (in Gomez-Gracia) looked like they raided their grandmothers’ closets. Both gowns looked too mother-of-the-bride to me. There is demure and then there is matronly.

I love Adele and her sparkly Giorgio Armani may have been a good fit for the singer. I don’t think it was a bad choice, but I’d love to see her in something more flattering and tailored with a retro vibe.

Taylor Swift wins my nod for best dressed— pulling off what Perry and Underwood couldn’t in her Zuhair Murad stunner. Swift was classy and grown up but not dowdy.

The Kings of Leon in Gucci win best dressed for men hands down. A good suit is all about tailoring.

And, as a side note Nicki Minaj needs to be less obvious when ripping off Lady Gaga and Lady Gaga can be a little less obvious when ripping off Madonna.
