Character Study: Megan Draper from Mad Men

We’re already feeling nostalgic for the show—and inspired by its ‘70s style

The promotional billboards are up, themed cocktail guides are out, and a black-tie, red carpet soiree to say good-bye has been had; Mad Men is officially going out with a bang.

Looking at pictures from last night’s “Black & Red Ball” season premiere event, held in downtown Los Angeles, we realized how much we’re going to miss the characters from TV’s classiest show—and how well they wear their identities (and retro threads), too.

Plaid sport jackets, slimmer silhouettes and outrageous sideburns sported already this season are indicative of the fast-approaching ‘70s, and it’s a style actress Megan Draper pulls off best. Give her a nod in Saint Laurent’s Tie-Neck Silk Floral-Print Dress. The graphic print and long sleeves with button cuffs make for a groovy, not cheesy look.
