Alexa Chung’s New App Was Inspired by Cher’s Closet in Clueless

Even Chloé and Alexander Wang have been wrangled in

You know that scene in Clueless where Cher scrolls through her rolodex of outfits on a bulky computer monitor to navigate her way through the Alaïa and Calvin Klein, the pleated plaid skirt-suits and knee socks? Alexa Chung is so eternally enamored with that scene (aren’t we all?), that she was inspired to create Villoid, a new fashion app.

Villoid is a bit like Instagram and a lot like Pinterest, but it’s specific to the wide world of womenswear. It allows you to create mood boards, scroll through a sea of products, connect with other users, and follow celebrities. A slew of designers including Chloé, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, and Alexander Wang have been roped into the participation on the platform. It’s a refined and grown-up version of a dress-up box.

When you find something that you like on Villoid, you can buy it from your iPhone—or add it to your wish list so that your Dee or Josh will know just what to get you for your birthday.
