10 Ways to Love Yourself as Much as You Love Los Angeles

In stressful times, self-care is more important than ever. Treat yourself to a day out in the fresh air.

This year has been a tough one, but Los Angelenos are doing their best to stay safe and help each other through it. If you’re ready to get out and take advantage of some of the city’s shopping and dining options, head to The Bloc, a three-level open-air center located on the 7th Street corridor in Downtown Los Angeles. (If you’re driving, enter from Flower Street for socially distanced parking on valet level or self-parking on levels 4 and 5.)

As the name suggests, this outdoor retail oasis takes up a full city block, and you’ll find plenty of ways to relax and unwind while following social distancing guidelines. For your safety they have installed social distancing protocols and require facial coverings. Forgot yours? Disposable facial coverings and mini hand sanitizers are available at their Concierge located on plaza level outside Macy’s.

Now that we know safety comes first, here are a few of our go to self-care recommendations:

Take Advantage of the Spacious Patio at JOEY DTLA

JOEY DTLA is proud to offer the largest street-level patio in Downtown Los Angeles, and you’ll appreciate the restaurant’s extensive food and drink offerings, too. Savory options range from the Korean Fried Cauliflower Bowl to the Steak & Lobster Ravioli; if you’re craving something sweet, try the Individually Baked Apple Pie or Molten Chocolate Cake. Cocktails include the Mezcal Drink and The Watermelon Drink, perfect for our sunny summer days.

Grab a Cool Treat at CoffeeWalk YogurtTalk

Seeing a friend for the first time in a while? Whether you want to take a stroll together or sit and chat, enjoy a refreshing snack from CoffeeWalk YogurtTalk at the same time. Located near a relaxing grassy area with plenty of outdoor seating options, this café serves tasty frozen yogurt with assorted toppings, coffee, boba drinks, and more.

Strike a Pose for a Self-Esteem Boost

Lift your spirits (and your mood) with the inspiring mural, located at 8th and Hope Street. A collaboration between WRDSMITH, an LA based street artist who often uses typewriter-style lettering in his work, and Colette Miller, famous for her paintings of angel wings, this artwork marks one of The Bloc’s social media hot spots. #theblocla
