Specialties and Research
Cedars-Sinai researchers are developing new treatments and are focused on bringing these treatments to patients as quickly as possible.

In stem cell research, Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute physician scientists completed the world’s first procedure in which a heart attack patient’s own cardiac stem cells were used to try to repair damaged heart muscle. Clinical trials are continuing.

Researchers at the Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute developed a vaccine that may mobilize a patient’s own immune system to attack the most serious types of brain tumors. Clinical trials are under way.

The Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute is one of the few places in the country where patients can receive outpatient chemotherapy and treatments 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
