Fifty Seven’s plans to swap chefs every few months means that what you’re reading now comes with a big fat caveat. Yet if the first go-round with Eleven Madison Park alum David Nayfeld is any indication, the restaurant could be one of L.A.’s best. The space, abutting an old Heinz loading dock, will remain a constant, and the ambiguous industrial-modern mash-up should suit most culinary concepts. Nayfeld moved on in June; the new menu is by James Beard nominee Joshua Drew, formerly of Farmshop, whose rustic approach hits on the flavors of South America and the Caribbean.
