La Cienega & West Hollywood

L.A.’s beautiful people have found their new social center in this gilded temple of fabulosity from the folks behind London’s private Soho House. The former Mortons space has been coated in marble (the floors are striped in black and white), crystal (links dangle from the ceiling), and silver (even the salt and pepper shakers are the real deal). A looky-loo culture pervades the front terrace. But if you’re not the one being looked at, expect to be discarded at a table by the rear busing station. The surprisingly good menu—pappardelle with sausage, oven-roasted sea bream filleted tableside, and grilled veal chop on a mountain of pea shoots—welcomes all types. » 8764 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood (310-432-2000 or cecconiswesthollywood.com). B-L-D daily. Full bar. Italian $$$
