Los Angeles may be lousy with light-lunch options, but few are as fine as this no-frills café from chef Samir Mohajer (formerly of Rustic Canyon). Order at the counter, take a number, and enjoy dishes based on organic and locally raised produce. Tangy blood orange vinaigrette and toasted hazelnuts enliven a roasted baby beet salad. Each of the “bowls”—chicken, tofu, or salmon atop a bed of white or brown rice with loads of seasonal vegetables—gets doused in an addictive soy and sesame dressing.
