Boxwood Café

One half of British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant at the London West Hollywood has been smartly dressed down to become Boxwood Café. Unlike its fancier sibling, this is not destination dining. The something-for-everyone menu runs the gamut from a burger with fries to miso-marinated black cod to fish tacos. The salads are a high point (we loved the pile of crispy calamari with edamame and miso dressing); the stabs at Mexican food are a low (we appreciate the wagyu beef in that $17 burrito, but we’d rather have flavor). If you’re at the hotel and need to grab a bite, this is your place—just don’t go out of your way. » London West Hollywood, 1020 N. San Vicente Blvd. (310-358-7788). B-L-D daily. Beer and wine.
