The downtown branch of the popular Culver City wine bar is about what you’d expect from a place trying to compete in the L.A. Live area: It’s flashy and it’s loud. What you wouldn’t necessarily expect is more than 500 wines (they’ll open any bottle if at least two glasses are ordered), one of the city’s premier beer lists (curated by our new favorite brew expert, Alex Macy), and challenging, well-executed small plates from chef Jared Levy (formerly of Providence). We’re not sure if the crew heading to the Dane Cook show appreciated the pig ear terrine or the fava and pistachio falafel, but we did. The spicy Cambazola blue from Germany was all the dessert we needed. » 1050 Flower St., Ste. 167 (213-747-1100 or L-D daily. Beer and wine. Wine Bar     $$
