My LA to Z: Meghan McCain

The co-host of Pivot’s Take Part Live may be new to L.A., but she’s already found her go-to spots for boozy brunch, nail art manis, and late night eats

Ulysses Voyage

mccain1I tape my nightly news show, Take Part Live, at CBS studios across the street from The Grove, and Ulysses has the best Greek food. I eat there at least twice a week. I love the three-dip appetizer with feta cheese and olives, the dolmas, and the lamb with rice.

Chi Nail Bar & Organic Spa

mccain2This is the best manicure/pedicure I have ever had. The girls are lovely and their gel manicures last two weeks. It’s also a great place for nail art—I love a glittery rock star manicure. I haven’t decided what yet, but I’m planning to do a fun design for my upcoming 30th birthday. Jess is my favorite technician there.

Bar 1200 at the Sunset Marquis

mccain3Before I moved to L.A., I would always stay at the Sunset Marquis and meet friends for drinks at Bar 1200. The hotel is classic, mellow, and has a rock and roll history. Now that I live here, I still meet friends at Bar 1200. It’s classic and low key, which is my favorite type of bar vibe.

mccain4Los Tacos

They have the best bean and cheese burrito I have found in L.A. And it’s open 24 hours!

The Redbury Hotel

mccain5Both the hotel and its restaurant, Cleo, remind me of my favorite places in New York. I love Cleo—it has become my go-to for late night dinners after I finish taping my show. As for the hotel itself, it’s dark and has a very cool East Coast vibe.

Jenette Bras

This place is a Godsend for women with larger breasts—I started shopping there a year ago, and it completely changed how my clothes fit. They customize everything. It’s the only place I’ll shop for bras now. I can’t say enough good things about them!

Cafe Midi

mccain7It’s a French bistro that is both outdoors and indoors attached to the American Rag store on La Brea. I live for the jerk chicken, the cold fettucini and their spinach salad. I love going on the weekends with friends.

mccain10Alona European Skincare

It’s actually located inside the Paul Marc salon in Sherman Oaks. Alona herself has been giving me facials for years, and she is nothing short of a miracle worker. I try and go once a month because my skin gets ravaged from the makeup I have to wear on television. I always leave her salon with rehydrated, glowing skin. I also get my eyebrows done by her daughter, Suzie Moldavon, and she is the best.

The Gold Coast Bar

mccain8This is my favorite gay bar to go to with my friends in West Hollywood. It’s an awesome dive and open until 2 a.m. They have these giant drinks that I love, and I always get my favorite: Jack and Coke.

WeHo Bistro

mccain9It’s my favorite Boystown brunch spot, and they have great food. The menu is unique—I really like the croque-madame. My best friend and I go on the weekends for a fun, boozy brunch.
