Must Do: The Magic Castle

You don’t need to be an illusionist to gain entry to this 50-year-old magicians’ lair. The private club recently expanded its membership policy to include Houdiniphiles.

How to do it: You can join as an associate member for an annual fee of $750 (plus initiation, at $1,500), but if it’s just an evening you’re after—which means dinner and a show—find a magician (like our friend Rob Zabrecky, pictured here) who’ll float you a guest pass. Be sure to obey the dress code—dresses for women, suits for men—or you won’t get in.
