How to do it: Wake up at dawn, head to the beach—anywhere from Manhattan to Malibu. Surf until no later than 11 a.m., then change from wet suit to warm clothes for the drive to Bear Mountain. Time it right and you’ll be on the slopes by 1:30 p.m., which will make the most of that day pass. You’ll be home in fuzzy slippers and sipping hot chocolate by midnight.
