Tomorrow night’s social hour will be a swine and wine affair. We’ve paired Best of L.A. winners Jill Bernheimer (from our favorite wine shop, Domaine L.A.) and chef Zach Pollack from Sotto. It’s an exercise in killing two birds with one stone.
We can’t wait to taste all five of the wines Bernheimer will be pouring tomorrow; all of them are natural wines. We’re most looking forward to sipping the Californian 2012 La Clarine Farm Rosé (Mourvedre/Syrah blend) and the Spanish 2010 Alfredo Maestro Castrillo del Duero (Tempranillo).
Both varietals will go very well with what Sotto is serving tomorrow night: pork belly porcetto with black plum mostarda. The chef has some additional surprise bites up his sleeve as well. (Oh, how we hope he’ll pull out some anchovy and potato crocchette with calabrian chili…)
