If the proliferation of brunch squad t-shirts has shown us anything, it’s that everyone’s favorite ‘tweener meal has transcended food and now exists as a full-on lifestyle. And with the day-drinking, eggs-benedicting phenomenon exploding, restaurants are trying their best to keep up with new and improved offerings. We all win when a watered-down bottomless mimosa special isn’t going to cut it anymore. Here are six new brunching options you need to check out:
A new summer brunch menu debuts at Faith & Flower featuring brand-new cocktails by lead bartender Darwin Pornel and Ryan Wainwright, the guy behind the programs at Terrine and Vivane.
Location: 705 W 9th Street, Downtown
Favorites: Eggs Benedict pizza, English Milk Punch
New Dishes: Bourbon pancakes, kimchee cornbread, prime beef picadillo
New Cocktails: Parade Route (sparkling rosé, Rittenhouse Rye, lemon, and Peychaud’s bitters) and the Shiso Easy (tequila blanco, Contratto Bianco, shiso, cucumber, lime, and salt)
Hot Tip: It’s downtown, valet park for $5.
Jessica Biel’s new kid-friendly restaurant, aka “the Chuck E. Cheese for the 1 percent,” now features a brunch. Its menu is a smorgasbord of all the things you wish your mom let you eat for breakfast but done up all gourmet like. For the waffle board, four small squares of waffles arrive on a branded wood board topped with goodies like Nutella and bananas, strawberries and chocolate, and fat blueberries. There’s even a birthday cake on the menu with a restrained dash of rainbow sprinkles.

New Cocktails: Au Fizzle (mimosa) with grapefruit, sparkling, and white pepper and Michelada
Hot Tip: Sit on the patio if you want to minimize your exposure to the little scrappies; it’s unofficially meant to be kid-free.
This beautiful space also has an expansive patio facing Sunset Boulevard. You may not see and be seen since the patio is tucked away from the street but there’s plenty of sun and even a lounge sitting area.

New Dishes: Pain Perdu, biscuit and gravy, Britt burger, grilled avocado

Hot Tip: There are lots of metered street parking but Columbia Square also has its own parking garage.
For its 15th anniversary, Napa Valley Grille underwent a $2 million renovation. It just debuted a new brunch by the recently acquired Executive Chef Adrian Vela.
Location: 1100 Glendon Avenue, Suite 100, Westwood
Favorites: Oxtail hash
New Dishes: Shrimp & stone-cut grits, prosciutto benedict duo, brioche French toast
New Cocktails: No new brunch cocktails but try the day-friendly, Seasonal Orchard Sangria (white peach, plum, lemon, orange, apple juice, brandy, Sycamore Lane Chardonnay)
Hot Tip: Since street parking is hard to come by in Westwood, you might want to spring for the $6 valet parking.
The brand-new California seafood restaurant features dishes by Executive Chef Alex McWilliams and a cocktail program by Devon Espinosa, formerly of The Church Key and ink, and started up its new brunch menu with a slew of brunch cocktails.
Location: 3705 Sunset Boulevard, Silver Lake
Favorites: Mimosa kit with a bottle of bubbly and a choice of three juices like white peach, pear, cassis, and strawberry
New Dishes: Ricotta skillet plate, chocolate croissant custard toast, chicken and waffles, Dutch baby
New Cocktails: Tequila/Blackberry (tequila, grapefruit, lime, blackberries, mint), and Carrot/Ginger (Russian Standard vodka, ginger lime, carrot juice, turmeric, soda)
Hot Tip: Detox and retox! With Clover Juice opening just next door to the restaurant, you can also order a spiked version where they will recommend a spirit that pairs well with your favorite juice.
Everything on the menu at this new Gotham-esque eatery is hyperlocal, either made in-house or grown and harvested by Executive Chef Diana Stavaridis so it’s all crazy fresh. And after much demand, Manhattan House has launched a “seed-to-table brunch” where dishes will rotate seasonally. And for all of June they’re offering bottomless mimosas.
