Joining L.A.’s increasingly fun battleground of liquor delivery and the larger war of transporting anything you want from Point A to Point B is the Minibar app, which will bring you alcohol within an hour and without any delivery charges (just tips).
Those in the delivery area can get booze, mixers, and bar supplies brought to their door after they place an order via the iOS/Android app or on the Minibar website. While Minibar is entering a crowded field, the app, which recently closed $1.8 million in funding and hired former Uber operations manager Jason Fiedler as its director of expansion, benefits from having a significant presence in New York and also already services other major markets like Miami, San Francisco, and Chicago.
In addition, Minibar is looking to distinguish itself with its easy-to-navigate interface and a wide inventory of artisanal and craft spirits based on its relationships with local liquor stores. Plus, there’s a party-planning tool. L.A. might also soon get Minibar’s Book a Bartender option, which the app already offers in other markets. ($100 for three hours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). In the meantime, you can browse Minibar for cocktail recipes and pairing recommendations.
