At L.A. Chapter, Valentine’s Day Means a Cocktail for Two

It’s served in a rose gold pineapple

Last minute Valentine’s Day idea: Order a big, elaborate cocktail that looks like a modern tiki drink and is designed for two people. Sip it together slowly while sitting in the restaurant of a scenester-friendly Downtown hotel where you can get Big Gay Ice Cream at the rooftop bar after dinner. It’s like the Lady and the Tramp spaghetti scene updated for the 2015 monocle-wearing crowd.

But it’s also a gorgeous drink. For Valentine’s Day, L.A. Chapter at Ace Hotel Downtown is offering a special $19 cocktail for two. The Saint-Chamond features Elyx vodka, black rose liqueur, creme de cacao, strawberry puree, pineapple, and sparkling wine. It’s served in a rose gold pineapple with an orange zest rosette. It sounds like it could work for cocktail hour, dinner, or even dessert. OK, maybe not dessert. We’re not kidding about Big Gay Ice Cream on the roof.
