Flights Beer Bar, with a deep selection of craft beers to pair with its sports-bar food and the bracket-busting NCAA Tournament games on its TVs, is open in Hawthorne.
The bar, which is having its grand opening tonight, has local beers like four Eagle Rock Brewery selections (Wit, IPA, XPA, and Solidarity) and three from the South Bay’s own Smog City (Amarilla Gorilla, L.A. Saison, and The Nothing) as well as a formidable collection of European beers (like Brouwerij Duchesse De Bourgogne, Chimay Cinq Cents, and Morland Old Speckled Hen English Nitro) on its obviously still evolving list. This is a serious beer bar, with 40 selections on tap, in a previously under-served inland part of the South Bay.
Food options include Tulsa-Tokyo Fried Chicken Wings with habaneros, soy sauce, and cilantro, as well as tacos, nachos, sliders, and the F-35 Lightning candy bar, which comes with coffee gelato and serves two to four people.
Flights Beer Bar is open from 4 p.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday.
