Where to Drink Like You’re at George Clooney’s Wedding

Because not all of us can fly a plane filled with premium tequila to Venice for the weekend

The reign of the world’s most famous bachelor, George Clooney, finally came to an end this weekend. At a private ceremony in Venice, Italy, Clooney married human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin. The couple then followed up with a series of lavish parties that made the canal-filled Italian city rival a Hollywood awards show for A-list celebrity sightings (Bill Murray, Cindy Crawford, Matt Damon, and Bono were just a few who were on hand).

As you’d expect there was no shortage of drinks being poured, partially thanks to Rande Gerber, Clooney’s friend and business partner with whom he launched Casamigos tequila in 2013, a “small batch tequila made from the finest, hand-selected, 100% Blue Weber agaves, which are grown in the rich, red clay soil and cool climate of the Jalisco Highlands of Mexico.” In true celebrity-endorsed style, Gerber loaded up a Casamigos-branded private jet with boxes of blanco, reposado and anjeo tequila, and flew it to Italy so guests could sip on the fruits of Clooney’s lucrative spirits venture.

Of course, you don’t have to be on anyone’s guest list to enjoy Casamigos. Dozens of bars serve it around town, including a few who make specialty cocktails with it. No doubt Clooney would prefer you sip a glass of his tequila neat, but if that’s not quite your style here are a few options:

The Parlour Room (Hollywood)
The Parlour Trick: Casamigos reposado tequila, agave, grapefruit, jalapeño

Red O (West Hollywood)
Casa Blanca Margarita: Casamigos silver tequila, clarified lime juice, Stirrings triple sec

Cast & Plow (Marina del Rey)
The Perfect Storm: Casamigos reposado tequila, cassis, lime juice
