Bottoms Up! Introducing Liquid L.A.


At some point, the realization will hit you like a shot of whiskey.

It could happen while perched on a barstool at Eagle Rock Brewery drinking an ultra-creamy milk stout. Or while sipping sparkling rosé along with your pad thai at Night + Market. Or while watching a sharply-dressed bartender twirl flaming glasses of absinthe at Faith & Flower.

There has never been a more exciting time to drink in L.A.

That’s why we here at Los Angeles magazine are thrilled to introduce Liquid L.A., an ambitious new blog that will cover the best parts of L.A. drinking culture on a daily basis—cocktails, beer, wine, and all the good stuff in between.

We’ve enlisted a top shelf team of contributors/lushes/barflies who are willing to put their livers on the line to share what’s worth tossing down the hatch. Acclaimed cocktail blogger Caroline on Crack will continue to cover all things cocktail and spirits-related, from sneak peeks of the hottest new bars to tips on what to drink when you’re shaking things up at home. Suds expert and cookbook author Randy Clemens will be covering the craft beer beat, sharing stories of local brewmasters and hoppy hidden gems. And finally, we’ve lined up a rotating cast of wine writers—from bottle shop gurus to top-notch sommeliers—who will open your eyes to both wine-vault treasures and funky, offbeat finds suited for poolside parties.

In short, we plan on making Liquid L.A. the premier destination for drinking in the city. Whether your beverage of choice is shaken, stirred, decanted, or pulled from the tap, we hope you’re ready to join us on our booze-fueled adventure. Yup, it’s going to be awesome.
