Alibi Room Brings Back the ’90s for New Year’s Eve

Drink retro cocktails while eating Kogi tacos at this low-key bash

New Year’s Eve is a night where many of us look back on our last 12 months, but Alibi Room wants to take things way back.

The Culver City bar is throwing a ’90s-themed New Year’s Eve party in case you’re looking to rock your Girbaud jeans one more time or see if your L.A. Gears still light up. But this is Alibi Room, the chill lounge that serves food from Roy Choi’s Kogi and Chego menus, so you can come as you are and not have to pay a cover. Yes, add Alibi Room to the list of L.A.’s many fun spots for a fuss-free New Year’s Eve.

Grab your neon windbreaker, or not, and enjoy “throwback cocktails” like a Sex on the Beach, Malibu Bay Breeze, Madras, or a B-52. Or just sip something a bit more mellow off of Alibi Room’s extensive signature cocktail, craft beer, and wine menu.

If you want to pair retro and modern, you could have Kamikaze shots with Choi’s Pacman Bowl: chicken, short rib, spicy pork, and three salsas over rice with onion, cheese, slaw, herbs, shallots, and garlic soy. The Peach Pit After Dark never had anything like this.
