On Saturday, September 26, Surfing Heritage and Culture Center hosted the California Gold Vintage Surf Auction Presented by Griff’s and sponsored by Los Angeles magazine to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation & SHACC.

Over 1,500 surfing fans gathered at the Culver City Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium to witness pieces of surfing history go up on the auction block. Highlights from the auction included the sale of Greg Noll’s Sunset Gun, which he rode during the 1967 Duke Kahanamoku Invitational Contest. The board sold for over $48,000 making it the highest paid in a surf auction for a vintage surfboard.
