The Breakfast Conversation Series: A New Economy

Los Angeles magazine and Pepperdine University hosted the first in a series of City Think breakfast conversation events on Wednesday, February 28th at Kate Mantilini. The topic “From crisis to normal – how do businesses adjust to a new kind of economy?” was moderated by LA Biz Observed editor, Los Angeles magazine contributor and KPCC business analyst Mark Lacter.

The discussion was carried by a panel of influential business leaders including Valley Economic Development Center President and CEO Roberto Barragan, real estate developer and President and CEO of The Ratkovich Company Wayne Ratkovich, and Dean Linda Livingstone of the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine. Guests enjoyed breakfast while the panel discussed and debated L.A.’s issues and concerns about unemployment, education, and even the mayoral race.
