This L.A. Couple Is Enjoying the Simple Pleasures. Like Paper Towels

Each week we ask a local couple, ”How did you meet?” And now, ”How how are you spending the quarantine?”
In our series How Did You Meet?, local couples tell us how they first hooked up. Lately, they’ve also been sharing how they’re spending their first quarantine together.

Lauren and Dane met at a taping of the podcast Harmontown, and the two have since been together for four years. Currently, they‘re quarantining in a small Los Angeles apartment. Upon hearing that the safer-at-home order was extended through May 15, they began picturing the weeks ahead.

“I know we are in for some tough days,” says 29-year-old Lauren, who was furloughed from her retail job. “But we all have to do our part to stay home and wear masks if we go out for groceries.”

They spend their days watching TV, taking walks, cleaning, and cooking. “I’ve been focusing on the cooking for the first time in my life,” says 35-year-old Dane, a TV writer.  “I’m cooking every meal.”
But they also stop to enjoy the simple pleasures of life in this “new normal,” like the paper towels they recently scored at Target.
