Dating at a Distance Went So Well for This Couple, They Moved in Together

Each week we ask a local couple, ’How did you meet?’

Chantel and Mark met on Hinge at the beginning of the quarantine, and quickly moved from the app to FaceTime. “We would have great virtual dates,” gushes 30-year-old Chantal, who works in marketing. “One night we watched The Matrix. We would play it at the exact same moment and then watch it together and chat over FaceTime.”

Eventually, the couple graduated to social-distance dates. “We had a picnic in Venice,” says Mark, a 34-year-old tech executive. “We stayed at least six feet apart. We would also go on social-distancing walks.”

When COVID-19 tests became available the two immediately signed up, and when the negative results came back, the newly minted couple became inseparable. They moved in together this past week.
