Glossier, the skincare and makeup company that has been saturating your social media feeds since launching in 2014, is breaking into the brick-and-mortar biz with a new showroom on Melrose. It’s sure to be a Millennial Pink-decked self-care fantasy land come to life.
The 1,500-square foot store, once home to Marc Jacob’s Bookmarc L.A., will be only the company’s second permanent shop—the first is in New York City—but it won’t be Glossier’s first visit to the West Coast. They’ve staged two brief pop-up shops in L.A. in the past, and just wrapped up a month-long pop-up in San Francisco.
But beyond that, they’re not yet giving away too many secrets of what might be in store for local shoppers. In an interview with WWD, CEO Emily Weiss said, “We want to make it a very unique and special experience,” and hinted at something that may be called a “selfie canyon” inside the Melrose shop, but that and other possible surprises won’t be revealed until the official opening on May 15.
