Your ’90s Obsession dELiA*s Returns Thanks to an L.A. Boutique

Dolls Kill is bringing the iconic teen brand back to life

If you were a teen or tween girl any time in the 1990s, you probably remember being excited to open your mailbox (of the physical, postal variety) and find the newest dELiA*s catalog had arrived. You could flip through the pages and pick out the baby tees and low-slung, wide-leg, wildly synthetic-fibered pants that would make your life complete. Now, a bit of that colorful, nostalgic vibe is coming back, thanks to fashion brand Dolls Kill.

“Every 90’s girl remembers the dELiA*s catalog hitting her mailbox,” says Dolls Kill co-founder Shaudi Lynn. “We’ve always been inspired by dELiA*s’ vintage, original style, and it felt like the right time to introduce it to a whole new generation.”

For the dELiA*s by doLLs KiLL collection, the designers at Dolls Kill revisited the bright colors, loud prints, and deeply ’90s silhouettes they found in their stash of old dELiA*s catalogs. The capsule has 70 limited-edition items, including clothing, shoes, and accessories, all priced from $18 to $88.

To celebrate the launch of the collection, Dolls Kill will be hosting a special launch event at their L.A. boutique (415 Fairfax Ave.). The ’90s-themed shindig starts at 11 a.m. on November 3, and will feature DJs playing throwback hits, a vintage pop-up shop curated by Instagram-famous @InternetGirl, and a “1990s dream bedroom” photo op for posing your own retro selfies. And if you recognize a few familiar faces at the party, that might be because Dolls Kill has invited some of the original dELiA*s catalog models to come by.

The original dELiA*s launched in 1993. The company was sold in 2003, then again in 2005, and by 2014 was in bankruptcy. There was a brief effort in 2015 to revive it as an online-only retailer under new owners, but that iteration lasted only a year.

dELiA*s isn’t the only retro property Dolls Kill has brought back through current clothes. They also recently released a collaboration with Lazy Oaf inspired by the MTV series Daria.
